Rider Support and Services
Dorset Gravel Dash is a self-supported, non-timed cycling adventure taking place on 29–30 May 2027.
The organiser provides navigation information and limited assistance, but riders are responsible for their own preparation, equipment and progress around their chosen route.
Navigation and Route Information
GPX route files are supplied electronically before the event.
The routes are not marked, and participants must navigate independently using a suitable GPS device or smartphone.
Riders should download and check their route files before setting off and carry a reliable means of navigation.
Support and Recovery Vehicle
The organiser confirms that a support or broom vehicle will be available to assist riders who cannot complete their chosen route.
This is a recovery service rather than continuous mechanical or personal support.
Riders should not rely on the vehicle for routine assistance.
50:50 Overnight Camping
Participants in the two-day 50:50 bikepacking option receive access to an organised overnight campsite.
Facilities include toilets, drinking water, an evening meal and breakfast.
The organiser also describes a campsite bar, with purchases charged separately.
Rider Briefing
A rider briefing is provided before departure.
All participants should follow the organiser’s final joining instructions for registration, briefing and start times, as some currently published pages contain inconsistent timing information.
Required Equipment
The organiser specifies equipment requirements including a helmet, lights, suitable waterproof clothing, navigation equipment, basic repair tools, spare tubes and first-aid supplies.
Two-day participants must also carry their own overnight camping equipment.
Riders should consult the official event instructions for the full kit requirements applicable to their route.
Food and Water
The 50:50 entry includes an evening meal and breakfast at the overnight campsite.
Riders are otherwise expected to plan their own food and hydration requirements for the route.
