Mechanical Assistance
The organiser provides neutral mechanical assistance at designated fixed locations along the 120 km gravel course.
Labour is free, but riders must pay for any replacement parts required.
The service is intended for repairs that can be completed relatively quickly. Assistance cannot be guaranteed for every mechanical problem or participant.
Riders should therefore carry their own essential tools, spare tubes or puncture-repair equipment.
The locations of the mechanical assistance points have not yet been published.
Hydration & Feed Stations
The 120 km gravel race includes hydration and feed stations approximately every 20 km.
These stations provide:
- Water and isotonic drinks
- Fruit
- Additional refreshments at the finish
Riders must stop and place both feet on the ground when receiving refreshments.
Access to feed-station supplies requires the participant wristband provided with the race kit.
The organiser advises riders to carry sufficient food and fluids for their own requirements rather than relying entirely on the feed stations.
Medical & Emergency Assistance
The organiser provides medical and rescue arrangements along the 120 km gravel course.
These include fixed medical posts, ambulances and mobile paramedic teams.
Medical staff may withdraw a participant if continuing would put their health at risk.
Riders are advised to carry a charged mobile phone. Emergency contact numbers will be communicated by the organiser before and during the event.
Withdrawal & Recovery
The race includes timed checkpoints.
Participants who arrive after a checkpoint’s cut-off time must withdraw and will be collected by the organiser’s sweep vehicle for transport to the finish area.
Riders choosing to continue independently must surrender their race numbers and accept responsibility for proceeding outside the organised event.
Anyone withdrawing or receiving emergency assistance must notify the organiser.
Electronic Timing
The 120 km gravel race uses electronic chip timing.
Participants receive a race number and timing chip as part of their entry.
Correct placement and use of the chip are mandatory. Missing timing records can result in disqualification.
Insurance & Rider Protection
Entry includes personal accident and civil liability insurance for participation in the event.
The organiser also provides additional medical assistance arrangements through the Asociación Argentina de Volantes (AAV).
Insurance does not cover bicycles, equipment or other personal belongings.
Participants should check whether they require additional travel, medical or equipment insurance.
Services for the 82 km & 32 km MTB Races
The wider Vuelta Altas Cumbres programme publishes separate event information for its MTB distances.
Participants in these races should confirm the applicable mechanical support, feed stations, medical arrangements and recovery services directly with the organiser.
The services described above are taken from the 2027 UCI Gravel Race regulations and should not be assumed to apply automatically to the MTB distances.
