Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash — Rider Services

Event Support and Rider Facilities

The Yorkshire Coast Dirt Dash is a self-supported, non-timed bikepacking reliability trial. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, equipment and general preparedness.

The organiser provides several services as part of the event entry.

Navigation and Route Information

An electronic GPX route is provided before the event, together with an electronic rider briefing.

The route is not waymarked. Participants must navigate independently using their own GPS device or smartphone.

Support and Recovery Vehicle

The organiser provides a support or recovery vehicle for riders who need assistance during the event.

Participants should still carry appropriate tools, spares and emergency equipment.

Overnight Camping

The organised overnight campsite includes a place to pitch a tent, toilets, drinking water, catering and an on-site café.

Riders are responsible for transporting their own camping and sleeping equipment.

Food and Refreshments

An evening meal and breakfast are included with entry.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available on request. Riders must bring their own bowl, mug, fork and spoon.

Additional food and water for the riding stages remain the responsibility of each participant.

Rider Registration

Participants must register at the event before the scheduled Saturday 09:00 departure from YHA Whitby.

Equipment and Safety

The organiser publishes minimum equipment requirements, including a helmet, lights, waterproof jacket, first-aid kit, navigation device, emergency sleeping provision, tools and puncture-repair equipment.

Riders must arrange their own insurance.
